I was looking for help. I had severe steering problems yesterday on my Ranger. When I'm on plane and the engine is trimmed up, I had to turn the wheel a good three revolutions to get the engine to turn slightly. When I idled with the engine down or trimmed, it steered fairly well. When getting on step I had no steering until the boat was on top. In short, the steering was very un-responsive and loose. I'm looking for ideas of where to start. Did I break a cable? Not sure how to start trouble-shooting. I can say it's very unnerving to run 60 mph on the water, then turn the steering wheel to go around a corner and nothing happens. Thanks for any help.
